Gaming is such a fun way to reduce day-to-day stress. It’s also good at distracting you momentarily from all the tensions you might have. Or you could just be addicted to playing games. Whatever your reason for indulging in this form of entertainment, you would want to play games that are worth your time (and money, if you have purchased the game). PUBG is definitely one of the games that gamers are addicted to. So much that it was recently banned by Nepal, only to revoke it later on. Similar action was taken in India as well and it has got many people concerned, especially parents who are worried about their children’s addiction to the game.
Well, if you are sure that you can control your obsession and it isn’t distracting your environment, you can play PUBG mobile and indulge in merriment but a device should endure it and most of don’t use a flagship phone. Moreover, phones with low-specs can’t sustain such graphics-intensive games for a long time and the performance takes a hit. Playing a game which lags constantly doesn’t give any pleasure. Can you imagine that you are just one bullet away to win the battle but due to the lag, the other guy ends up shooting you first and he’s the one who gets to eat the chicken dinner? You wouldn’t want that right? So, follow the step-by-step guide and learn how to fix lag for a smooth PUBG mobile gameplay.

How to Fix Lag in PUBG Mobile

For playing PUBG Mobile, your phone must meet these some basic requirements – Android 5.1 or Higher Version, a minimum of 2GB RAM, 5GB free storage, Snapdragon 430/Kirin -655 or higher, Exynos 5443 or higher, and Adreno 505/Mali T830 or higher. If your smartphone matches all the requirements, you are all set to go.

Method 1 – Clear Cache

You install hundreds of apps every six months and all the apps occupy some space in your device. That space is called cache and it’s imperative that you clean it for not only playing PUBG but also for a smooth functioning smartphone. You can either clear cache of PUBG Mobile or of the overall device. We suggest you try cleating cache of PUBG mobile first.
To do that, go to Settings and navigate to your installed applications. Search for PUBG. Click on it. You’ll see a myriad of options. Select Storage. You’ll see how much data and cache PUBG Mobile is storing. Tap on Clear Cache.

The other way to clear cache is wiping the cache partition. No, don’t worry, you will not be rooting your phone. To use this method, you’ll have to enter the recovery mode. To do so, press and hold HOME + POWER + VOLUME UP buttons in tandem. Some devices have a different key combination to enter the recovery mode. Once you are in the recovery mode, select Wipe Cache Partition by using the volume buttons for navigation and power button for selecting the option. Your phone will be restarted once the process is completed. This won’t delete any data on your phone but do not select Wipe Data/Factory Reset as it will format your device and you’ll lose all your data.

Method 2 – Mobile Graphic Options

As mentioned earlier, some phones just cannot handle a graphics-heavy game and some other solutions work, too. So, why not hit the root cause – the graphics. Yea sure, you might miss playing in full resolution but what’s better, a smooth game with low resolution or a laggy game in full resolution? The former one, right? If you agree, then let’s sort out this mess. Launch PUBG Mobile, go to Settings and click on Graphics. Tap on Smooth under Graphics option and set the frame rate to low. In addition, tap on Classic under Style.

Method 3 – Developer Options

Developer Options lets you explore some technical aspects of your phone and it can affect the overall experience, so proceed with caution. You’ll have to enable it as manufacturers choose to disable it. Go to Settings on your phone, navigate to About Phone and click on Build Number a total of 5 times to enable Developer Options. Now that you’ve enabled it, let’s tweak some settings.
Launch Developer Options and go to Animations. Change Window Animation Scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator Duration scale to 0.5x
Now, Enable Force 4x MSAA, Force GPU rendering and disable HW overlays.
Xiaomi users should enable Turn On MIUI Optimisation.

Method 4 – GFX Tool

There are many apps that can fix the lagging issues on your phone but GTX Tool is a specific app that handles PUBG solely. This app unlocks the full potential of PUBG Mobile such as FULL HD graphics, 60 FPS, etc. Get started by installing the application from Google Play Store. Make sure you exit PUBG before opening GFX Tool. Now tweak a few options to enhance your gameplay.
Select the version of PUBG Mobile. Set Resolution & Graphics at an optimal level. Make sure you don’t worsen your gameplay by opting for unrealistic settings. Set the FPS to 60FPS and as for Style, select Classic. Enable GPU as it will reduce some effects that take a toll on your phone. You can even reduce the Shadow or select a skin. Check all the settings once again. Click on Accept. IF you haven’t donated, the app will start playing a video and then the settings will be applied.

Method 5 – Game Repair

There are times when the application doesn’t function properly or you get errors while downloading some files. You can repair the game, for which, you don’t need an app. It can be done within the game. When the game is loading, you get three options – Settings, Repair, and Language. Select Repair. It will reinstall the game on your phone, so make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network or if you are using your mobile data, you should have sufficient data.

Method 6 –  Managing Applications

If you run a lot of apps then your RAM will always be occupied with said apps. It will also affect your battery life. Clear your RAM by clicking the Recent Apps button. You can even clean your RAM in your device manager.
The other thing that you do is to uninstall unused applications that might take a toll on your smartphone.

Method 7 – Game Booster

This is another third-party application that will drastically change how games will run on your phone. Download Game Booster from the Google Play Store. Launch the app. It will scan your device for all the games. Now, run PUBG from Game Booster. It might or might not help fix the lag on PUBG but give it a try.

Method 8 – Miscellaneous

Ping – While playing PUBG, select a map whose ping is low
Turn off voice chat – To reduce the lag, don’t turn on the voice chat. Do it only if you use it extensively.
Uninstall and Reinstall PUBG – When nothing works in your favor, you simply uninstall PUBG and reinstall it. Bad installations stall a good game. It could also be the reason why PUBG lacks so much.
